Floralis is a series of veneer vases handmade in Sweden.
Explorations on how to use leftover oak and ash veneer from a local furniture company in flower arrangements. OnMateria tries to reconnect these beautiful thin pieces of wood destined to be thrown away back with nature, back to a peaceful meadow. They are poetic exercises on veneer as a material, its origins, and its fragility.
Produced at the designer’s own workshop, the project has an exploratory playful intention. The result is handmade veneer vases, each unique as the flowers they hold. Floralis is a tribute to human curiosity, to our wonder for the natural world.
*Floraris means floral in Latin. Latin is still the language of nature.
